Description
We collaborated with the DCC and Eventco to design content for several interactive projection-mapping installations for the Winter Lights event at Merrion Square Park. This event was the latest addition to the famed Dublin City Lights trail which previously comprised of a number of light shows across different locations around the city centre.
This year, one of Dublin’s most beloved parks was transformed into a Winter wonderland with installations spectacled around the park. This free event was open to the public and welcomed both individuals and families of all ages.
As the Winter Lights trail took place during the pandemic,
the admissions to the grounds were staggered to ensure that there was no congestion at any point along the route.
To further support this health & safety control, our team developed both interactions and content which encouraged a directional and continual flow along the path.
3 out of 4 projection mapping installations illuminated pre-existing stone structures in the park whilst the fourth install was a newly constructed feature designed for a 360' degree vantage point at the end of the trail.
We developed creative content for a Santa’s Grotto as well as a nature inspired interactive mural, a typographic tribute to Oscar Wilde and a 15m high Christmas tree at the heart of the park, displaying a series of magical animations.
