Jameson Distillery | Bow Street
Projection Mapping | 3D Motion Graphics
This is a custom projection-mapping display in the Jameson Distillery BowStreet Experience, Dublin. The project follows the stages of production for their whiskey product and hopes to make the tour more exciting with this interactive display.
The design thinking behind this project was directed by old-age methods behind the process and production of Jameson Whiskey. Taking influence from the Irish culture supporting the grain we collaborated with a talented illustrator to create a series of weathered, line and realistic illustrations that slowly reveal the timeline of the production line.
Working closely with the illustrator we were able to create a seamless narrative transitioning from the left to right with light-focused motion graphics, highlighting areas of the wall mural that detailed important stages of the production method.
On this particular occasion we experienced some challenging factors including mapping onto curved surfaces and timing realisations.
Due to the scale of the mural it was important to consider that the viewer may not be able to digest information that covers more that one defined section at a time. For this reason the use of highlighting stages and darkening the surroundings helped us to focus the attention to one area.
